Randall Maxwell is a director, editor, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles, CA & Marquette, MI.
His filmmaking work spans feature-length and short-form narrative, documentary, music video,
commercial and viral content. His work has screened at festivals worldwide, including Cannes, SXSW
and Slamdance, and has been featured in a variety of news outlets, including NBC, Meet the Press,
The Atlantic, Esquire and National Geographic, among others. As part of MEL Films, Randall earned
an Edward R. Murrow for Journalism in 2016, and was part of a team that won Best Short Form Series
at the IDA Awards in 2018. In 2019, Randall worked for Participant Media directing documentary content
for their social impact campaigns, including a 10 years later follow-up on Food, Inc. subjects. Randall
also worked as the editor for The Sarah Silverman Podcast, cutting 53 episodes from 2021 to 2022,
and has worked extensively for Condé Nast as an editor of their digital content. Most recently, Randall’s
short film Bad Furniture was selected by over 40 film festivals worldwide as well as earning distinctions on
video platforms such as Vimeo, Film Shortage and Directors Notes.
